ParaChem Chemicals

ParaChem Chemicals operates a plant that can produce 350,000 metric tons per year of Paraxylene (PX) used in polyester chain (textile and plastic bottles). The plant supplies raw materials to Interquisa Canada thereby making it a strategic link in Québec’s petrochemical complex.

ParaChem’s plant also generates benzene (use in the manufacturing of styrene and polystyrene) and hydrogen. The 185-acre plant site is located in the heart of Montréal’s petrochemicals cluster, which is fully equipped with pipelines and sea and rail shipping facilities. Its hydrocarbon storage capacity exceeds two million barrels. Parachem Chemicals is a subsidiary of Petro-Canada.
