SGF honoured by the 2006 Entraide Campaign

SGF receives a Philanthrope award for amount donated per employee

Montréal, February 19, 2007 — Société générale de financement du Québec (SGF) and its employees were honoured on January 25 when the Reconnaissance awards for the 2006 Entraide Campaign were presented. This annual fund-raising campaign for Québec-government employees raises funds for Centraide/United Way, Partenairesanté-Québec and the Canadian Red Cross, Québec Division.

The Reconnaissance awards were presented to 48 organizations in the public and parapublic sectors. The 12 organizations with the largest donations per person received the highest distinction, the Philanthrope award. SGF received a Philanthrope in the category of public-sector organizations with fewer than 200 employees.

Yves Bourque, chairman of SGF’s Entraide campaign, said he was delighted with the results. “This was a fine collective effort and a nice example of teamwork. I’d like to thank SGF’s employees for their generosity.”

Mr. Bourque also had special thanks for campaign co-ordinator Véronique Henry. With assistance from her colleagues, Ms. Henry organized numerous activities that took place all week long. The sale of a book of recipes by SGF employees, an auction of employees’ works of art and a breakfast are some of the activities that enabled SGF to contribute a total of $80,802 to the 2006 Entraide Campaign.

The 2006 Entraide Campaign took place from October 2 to 6, 2006, inclusive. Employees and retirees from the public and parapublic sectors raised a total of $6,500,695.
