SGF invests in MédiaMed Technologies Inc.

Montréal, April 10, 2008 – Société générale de financement du Québec has acquired a 46% stake in MédiaMed Technologies.
MédiaMed, located in Mont-Saint-Hilaire on Montréal’s South Shore, designs and develops innovative software solutions for the management of clinical information by hospitals and health care and social services centres. In addition to superior technological solutions, MédiaMed offers consulting services adapted to the realities of Québec’s health care system. MédiaMed was founded in 2001 by two entrepreneurs involved in the health care sector, Dr. Jean Mireault, an emergency physician, and Daniel Handfield, a computer scientist and information systems designer.
The partnership with SGF will give MédiaMed the capital it needs to accelerate its growth. The company intends to round out its product line and to expand through strategic alliances or acquisitions.
SGF is very active in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, with special emphasis on technologies applicable to the health care sector. This area of activity has considerable potential for Québec’s ICT industry. SGF’s considerable financing capability, as well as the expertise of its investment teams, enables it to play an important role in the sector’s development.
