Denis Williams is promoted to Vice-President, Investments, of the Mines, Materials, Energy and Environment Group

Montréal, December 4, 2007- Luc Séguin, Senior Vice-President, Investments, of the Mines, Materials, Energy and Environment Group, is pleased to announced that Denis Williams has been promoted to the position of Vice-President, Investments. Mr. Williams will co-ordinate business development for the mines and materials sector as well as aerospace.

Mr. Williams has almost 20 years of experience in private equity investment. He is recognized as a careful and conscientious developer and investor who has been involved in many investments in the industrial sector during his career.

Under Mr. Séguin’s direction, Mr. Williams will ensure SGF plays a more prominent role in the mines and material sectors. He has also been given a mandate to develop SGF’s aerospace portfolio.

“We focus mainly on leading-edge niches whose companies have a high technological content, such as advanced materials and aeronautics. We can offer such companies financial support and leading-edge expertise enabling them to carry out their growth plans,” Mr. Williams stated.

The Mines, Materials, Energy and Environment Group brings together SGF’s expertise in mining, metals, advanced materials, energy, environment and chemicals. Through its investments, SGF promotes the development of these sectors, helps attract international companies to Québec and fosters the growth of local businesses.
